As you can see we offer a huge choice, but in choosing a suitable machine, there
are several factors to consider. The output of most compressors is measured
in CFM (Cubic Feet per Minute). This is the measure of the air the machine can
deliver. Some applications, for example, shot
blasting, can consume relatively large quantities of air. You should compare
the CFM rating of the air
tool device(s) you want to power against the output of the compressor and
allow a margin for loss. Compressors with tanks give a reservoir of air so that
small bursts of a high CFM rate can be accommodated without the tank becoming
depleted. You may also want to consider using additional air
regulators, oilers and air
tubing kits for your air installation.
Electrical Supply.
Most compressors we sell will run from a standard 13A mains supply, using a
standard 3 pin plug. However, larger compressors can require either a 16A 240V
supply with a special outlet and some may require a 3 phase supply. Please check
the individual machine requirements before purchasing.
Oil
Free Compressors
Oil free compressors supply compressed that contains no minute oil droplets,
so if you need a very 'clean' air supply, you should consider an oil free unit.

Volt Compressors
These are designed to work from a car battery or in car 12 volt supply and
are ideal for maintaining pressure or inflating tyres, but this might take a
long time with some of the smaller units.
