Does the Parker 62CC qualify as one of the best chainsaws on the market? We won’t give you a straight answer. Instead, we’ll provide a detailed review of the tool to help you make the judgment for yourself and give a final decision in the end.
Let’s get on with it, shall we?
About The 62CC
They say that the reliability of a chainsaw is in its power. How powerful is it? Can it roar and get through logs and trees without getting stuck or breaking down in the process? The Parker 62CC chainsaw is one beast that is designed to beat the thick and hard logs. It is a petrol-powered chainsaw that comes with enough power to tackle your sawing needs. Being that it is a petrol-powered unit means that it comes with some weight. Specifically, the machine weighs almost 9kgs, which needs some strength when handling it.
Features
- Engine/Power
The mighty Parker chainsaw comes with the award-winning 62cc 2-stroke air cooled engine. This means that the engine will naturally cool as you use it. In other words, it won’t heat up as it roars. The engine has an impressive output of 2.6KW or 3.5 horsepower. Super-powerful!
- Cutting Ability
Like most chainsaws on the market, this one also comes with a long 20-inch bar. This bar is long enough to give you an easy time with your heavy logs. Plus, it comes complete with chains. The cutting blade is made of a durable alloy blade for long usage. You don’t have to worry about it catching rust or corrosion.
The two chains are there for you to replace when one fails you or is worn out. Though you may choose to get new and better chains if you want an upgrade to the ones provided.
- Ease of Use
First off, this chainsaw is easy to assemble, and you can follow the user manual that is also quite easy to understand. When you are ready to start sawing, just pull the start cord. But we have to be honest; it is slightly challenging to get this thing started. But once it starts to roar, you’ll be good to go.
A chain tensioner is mounted on the side for easy accessibility. We also loved the auto-chain lubrication system that gives you an easy maintenance experience. As you use the chainsaw, you won’t experience the annoying vibrations because it features an integrated anti-vibration system.
- Durability
If were to rate if this chainsaw was built to last, it would receive a high rating. Remember that the cutting bar is made of a strong alloy that is corrosion resistance, the chain system also features an auto-lubrication. You will get a free carrying bag and bar cover, and a few accessories to get you going. Plus, it is backed by a 2-year warranty.
Pros
- It feels strong and sturdy
- Powerful engine
- Anti-vibration system for comfortable handling
- Strong and corrosion-resistant blade
- Comes with some extra tools/accessories
Cons
- It can be challenging to start
- Might be heavy to some people
Verdict
So, is the Parker 62CC one of the best chainsaws on the market? Yes, it is. You can be sure of enjoying a strong and durable machine when you purchase this chainsaw. Its handling is user-friendly, and you also enjoy some safety assurance with it. It’s also quite affordable compared to most chainsaws with same power delivery.
I purchased an 18″ parker fourteen months ago. Within four months the on off switch broke.
I am unable to purchase the correct one from Parker brand as they do not have one.
Their warranty does not cover the electrics on the chainsaw.
This is the only fault that I have with this machine but the after sales service is not good.
Very happy with this saw. good construction, easy starting hot and cold and has enough power to cope with most jobs. not complaining but you should mention in manual and etch on bar not to flip it (turning upside down periodically to keep bar wear even) as there is only an oil feed hole on one side) might save you a few returns as if inexperienced users don’t notice this it’s a potential safety risk due to oil starvation. thanks again. dominic’maddog’mogridge. west cork. eire
Hi there, do you mean you should flip the bar periodically as you say “not to” in your comment. Thanks ..Paul
It seems that there are several people who have had problems with the on off switch on this machine. Parkerbrand want to sell me one for £10.44 which does not fit. They blame their supplier but this is a way to duck responsibility.
Tried several cheap chinese switches which fit but do not last long.
Great machine if they could sort out the on off switch.
